Description
Sterling Silver Claw Prosthetic Glass Eye Ring, made by Maggie of freedomjewelryusa.
Sterling Silver Skeleton Hands Prosthetic Eye Ring.
This sterling silver ring design requires both techniques in the jewelry making arena. The ring itself is lost wax cast and the bezel cup setting for the eye is hand fabricated and then soldered onto the ring base. The eye is then set into the sawtooth bezel cup. The band has a shape of a bone along with detailed claws grasping the eye. Detail shown in pictures.
This ring is for example only, please message for your personal size and color eye ring.
These prosthetic glass eyes are very hard in the Iris, taking much abuse with normal wear. I polish the eye and carve it to fit. Taxidermy glass eyes are available as well.
Weight: 13 grams.
The color is to be determined by the outdoor photo provided in photos to be sent.
If another ring like this is desired in your personal ring size and choice of color eye, please message, note ring sizes available in options. 10 days or less to complete, photos sent for approval of color and eye.
History on these glass eye originates from Lauscha, a town in the district of Sonneberg, in Thuringia, Germany.
Produced from a doll manufacturing company, around 1870~1910; specializing in glass marbles, porcelain dolls and prosthetic glass eyes; these were produced before and during the war, as a replacement for the human eye, very interesting, historical and I feel privileged to set these.
The taxidermy eyes are a professionally made from a hard lens, airbrushed enamel and then fired. Color will not fade.
A great conversation piece, very comfortable, requires no extra care and each ring is stamped with my FREEDOM imprint and sterling to guarantee each and every ring. Any glare or blemishes shown on pictures is due to the close up lens I use to capture the detail in the eye. 13 gram weight finished. Lies smooth to the touch for everyday wear with a smooth band for comfort. Please note I completely make this ring from the start to finish.
