Description
Sterling Silver Sethos Cartouche Ring, handmade by Maggie of freedomjewelryusa.
This mold has been in my archives for over 30 years. With the resurgence of the metaphysical past, I felt it was time to bring this design to life.
The Cartouche is a series of hieroglyphic usually displaying the name of a king and then placed in the owner’s tomb. Formally worn by Pharaohs, the rim surrounding the name was meant to protect them from evil spirits in life and after death. In modern days it has become a symbol representing good luck and protection from evil.
This particular cartouche design shown in this ring is of one of the Pharaoh Sethos or Seti I, his ceremonial name and translated, “Men Maat Ra”, which means “Eternal is the Truth of Ra.”
This ring is of strong structure, sizing time usually 5 days to completion as I make a new ring to accommodate new size.
9 gram weight, measures: 1″ length and .50″ across with 1/8th inch tall. Great for everyday wear.
I take my time with all my pieces I make and give it a fantastic finish. Great detail and excellent design in this vintage mold, excellent band.
